Chew on this!
I want to CHEW something! Cravings? Yes! Eggs, tuna, chicken. Protein items that are yet "off limits" because for some reason, they insist upon liquids. Aarrgghhh!
And I truly WAS considering one such indulgence (a boiled egg or a chicken breast), except I stepped on the scale tonight & where I was 262.5 yesterday, it's showing 266.0 today! And so, I'm going to be good. (Insert sad, pouty face here.)
I'm only 2 days into this 2 week diet, & I'm struggling already. Camille says day 2 is the worst, so I'm counting on that!
My lovely, awesome Blender Bottles arrived today & were awaiting me when I arrived home from work. I'm so excited to try one. I even already packed my supplies for work tomorrow. I already see that these are going to make work shakes SO much easier!!! Thank you Jenny for the suggestion... you rock!
Regarding my insurance company, the forms were submitted on April 1st. I waited (almost) the 2 weeks & called on the 12th. It was still in "nurse review." She said it takes up to 2 weeks, so I called again yesterday (officially 2 weeks), & it's STILL in "nurse review." I asked if there's any way to see if it's actually being LOOKED AT. She said not to worry & that sometimes the approval will come just days before the surgery date. DAYS??? I'm going to have a serious melt-down if I do this 2 week liquid torture & then get declined. Seriously. Pray for me.

Day 2 was the worst for me but I only had to do 5 days. You're going to have a fantastic weight loss before you're even banded, try and hang on to that if you can.
ReplyDeleteHope that you hear from your insurance company soon.
I remember the first week of liquids being tough too. But you can do it! I know you can - you have the ultimate goal in front of you.. your band going in. I can't believe it's only 11 days now till DDay! Exciting.
ReplyDeletePS Love the new blog layout. Really, really pretty.
Now that I'm done with the liquid phase I can truly say that its the worst part! Every part of the journey is challenging but that was really the worst. You should start a little countdown for yourself on how many days you have left.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got the bottles! Let me know how they do! They got good reviews.
i remember the first three days being the hardest on the liquid diet. i had to do it for three weeks. it was brutal! after that it was like a switch was flipped. kinda odd, but that's really what it felt like. it'll get better. and you do have the ultimate goal ahead of you, getting your band. these next 11 days will be gone before you know it.
ReplyDeletethe first few days were the hardest. I did not weigh myself until the day of surgery! You can do this...just one of the steps of this amazing journey!
ReplyDeleteStay strong!
I'm praying for insurance approval. Keep at the liquids - you can do it!
ReplyDeleteYes. Here is the good news. Days 1-4 are pretty much hell. You dream of food, commericials taunt you, etc. Then...like when you jump in really freezing water and think its so cold but afterawhile you go numb and the temperature doesnt bother you anymore...yes...like that days 5-8ish arent so bad!
ReplyDeleteSo hang in there!
I'm with Amy! It will get better! 10 more days!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're both in the same boat. Hi...I'm Cindy and I'm on day 5 of 14 of my liquid diet. I ate 5 Ritz crackers on Tuesday night and haven't cheated since...we'll see??? My surgery date is 4/26...how about you? I guess we'll be going through this together.
